SOLID FUEL STOVES

More Efficient:

If you want to have a coal fire, but would like to get more from your fuel, then choose a solid fuel or multi-fuel stove. These stoves are so much more efficient than an open fire. An open fire may only be 15 to 20% efficient, which means that most of the good of the fuel is literally going 'up the chimney'! Whereas solid fuel stoves can be more than three times as efficient, meaning that you get more from your fuel.

Sourced in Ireland:

We supply solid fuel stoves made by Boru Stoves, who are based in Co. Tipperary and pride themselves on making quality high-performance stoves from start to finish right here in Ireland. Their stoves have been tested to either the BS EN13240 standard for free standing stoves or the BS EN 13229 standard for inset stoves.

WHAT SIZE STOVE? A quick calculation:

Multiply room dimensions in metres - L x W x H and divide by 14 for average insulation to get the minimum kW (kilowatts) for the room. For other ways of calculating what size stove you might need, see our appliances page.
